| ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate different levels of dietary supplementation with dried Arthrospira platensis meal during the breeding season of the tambatinga hybrid, using zootechnical performance, haematological parameters and percent composition of the fillet, and by measuring the parameters of water quality. Experimental breeding lasted 64 days. The fry, with an initial weight of 3.56 ± 0.02 g, received diets with two levels of supplementation (20 and 40%) and one control (commercial feed, without the addition of A. platensis meal). The water quality parameters over safe limits were total ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2-), and nitrate (NO3-), which increased as the level of supplementation increased, but did not cause any mortalities. | Os anestésicos figuram como poderosa ferramenta na aquicultura, atuando na redução do estresse e mortalidade usualmente causados pelo manejo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes concentrações de eugenol em adultos de tilápia e determinar a concentração ideal para realização de uma biometria. Foram avaliadas seis concentrações (30, 60, 120, 180, 240 e 300 mg L-1). Para cada tratamento, 12 peixes (comprimento médio: 32,7 ± 3,0; peso médio: 557,0 ± 160 g), foram imersos individualmente na solução anestésica durante 10 min. | La pisciculture du Quinquis, sise près de Landivisiau (29), a pour objet la production intensive de smolts de saumon atlantique (Salmo salar) dans le cadre d'un programme d'aménagement et de repeuplement de la rivière Elorn. Depuis sa mise en eau (1976) les résultats ont été décevants et ceci à cause, d'une part de difficultés de démarrage (problèmes alimentaires en autres), d'autre part de problèmes sanitaires : la furonculose ayant entrainé des mortalités importantes dès le 1er automne (alevins à bonne croissance) ou en fin d'hiver. Au total, la survie a toujours été très faible et la production de smolts négligeable. | Les résultats de la campagne 1979-1980 ont montré la nécessité d'améliorer les performances de l'alevinage pour obtenir des résultats de production intéressants en cycle ouvert dans les conditions bretonnes. En effet, une augmentation du taux de smoltification à un an ne semble pouvoir être obtenue dans des conditions économiquement intéressantes (Charge très supérieure à 2 kg/m2), qu'à condition que la taille des tacons soit au moins égale à 6-7 cm en septembre de la première année. | Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) is the fish species most commonly raised in the Brazilian fish farms. The species is highly adaptable to captive conditions, and is both fast-growing and relatively fecund. In recent years, artificial breeding has produced hybrids with Characiform species, known as "Tambacu" and "Tambatinga". Identifying hybrids is a difficult process, given their morphological similarities with the parent species. | The objective of this study was to isolate and characterize Streptococcus spp. in Nile tilapias (Oreochromis niloticus) reared in net-pens and earth nurseries. Eight intensive tilapia-rearing farms were investigated in north Paraná, Brazil from April 1st 2001 to April 30th 2002. The fish were reared in a system of hapas nets on four farms and in earth nurseries on other four farms.
